Preserving and Promoting Indigenous Languages of Ethnic Minorities in Bangladesh: A Strategic Planning Framework

Bangladesh is a country with multi-ethnic communities. The majority of the population Bengali-speaking Bengalese. Around fifty indigenous communities are rest who have other languages. Because narrow scope, any languages in such conditions chance extinction. For vibrant and harmonious society, linguistic cultural diversities require respect recognition. Besides, these possess epistemic values considered sources primitive knowledge. government People’s Republic has taken an affirmative initiative to preserve language culture. To meet this goal, preservation promotion imperative. By Article 23(A) its constitution, education policy 2010 law ‘Small Ethnic Groups Cultural Institutes Act 2010’ rights restored. Following decision, National Curriculum Textbook Board publishes primary school textbooks five But not enough keep all alive. Many more actions necessary facilitate constitutional declaration development like publishing languages, teachers’ training initiatives. This paper attempts fill gap between initiatives by actual necessity full-fledged action as it source It primarily depends on literature, official documents interviews respected stakeholders. outcome study important for national integration countries that multi-ethnic, pluralistic society.
